Our first family swimming experience!

On Tuesday we took Sophia swimming for the first time. Sophia was 8 weeks old when we went. We had always known that we were going to take her swimming while she was quite young as we want to get her used to the noise and movement while she's young.

I only know the swimming pools in the surrounding areas to where we live. They aren't bad pools, but they're limited in terms of children / baby pools. Gav suggested going to Barnsley swimming bath - Metrodome, where he said there is a fairly size able pool for babies. I'd suggested going swimming the day before but we hadn't set anything in stone so it was a quick grab of clothes and rush around before we set off.

Sophia's 2 month update!

Wow! So this is Sophia's two month update! This month has flown by. The first month was a scary month, everything was so new and we were scared about everything little thing. By two months I feel so much more comfortable with Sophia now. I know she recognizes me. I get smiles in the mornings, we all enjoy her bath time. We even went swimming for the first time together and apart from the initial scary getting ready to go in moment it was great!

Mummy and me - May

This month I've decided to join in with the  linky mummy and me! The idea comes from Nicola who recognised she was always taking photos of her children but not many with her in them! I can definitely relate to this with my own mum. She has lots of albums full of photos but not many of the two of us together.

Getting me back #1 - Body

I've decided this as a new series in posts that I will do once in whenever seems relevant or every week if I can. It's called 'getting me back' as it's something I'm currently struggling with as a new mum.

(39 weeks pregnant + 8 weeks postpartum)

Becoming a mum is something I never thought would actually happen. Up until two years ago it's something I didn't actually want, I have a small family and I've really not been around kids unless they are the same age as myself or similar. One day something just clicked in my head and it was all I could think about, to have a family of my own. It really is the best decision we ever made, but now I'm recovered from the c-section I find myself daily thinking about the changes to my body and how I wish I could just change it back with a click of my fingers. I've never been the most confident person in the world, but now I'm 8 weeks postpartum and I really wish I had been more confident pre-pregnancy.

Our week in photo's #2

Just a small one this week as we haven't been up to too much! We visited Shibden park, there's pathways around the whole park so it's lovely for a stroll around on a sunny day with the pram! It's always full of kids feeding the ducks and watching the trains go round. There's also a little cafe we always end up getting chips, and I always end up with coke!

Sophia had a play date with Daniel who was one week old at the time. It made me realise how big Sophia is! They really do change so quickly.

Lastly we went to Shipley 5 locks. There's a little place to park up near a cafe on the canal and you can have a nice half hour walk there. Then food! We had to turn around quicker than expected because of the weather but it's just good to get out!

Sophia's 1 month update

This is a very late update on Sophia! She is now nearly 8 weeks old oops! I love to read these kinds of updates on other people's pages so I wanted to make sure I started from the beginning. Hopefully I can remember everything.

Sleepyhead review

Are sleepyhead review / experience

As a first time mum and dad, myself and Gavin found ourselves looking into every product in detail, looking for the best and newest things around to make are lives as easy as possible. Gavin heard about the sleepyhead through colleagues at work, at £99 it's not cheap. But everyone raved about it and there was some really good reviews online as well.
