Sleepyhead review

Are sleepyhead review / experience

As a first time mum and dad, myself and Gavin found ourselves looking into every product in detail, looking for the best and newest things around to make are lives as easy as possible. Gavin heard about the sleepyhead through colleagues at work, at £99 it's not cheap. But everyone raved about it and there was some really good reviews online as well.

The idea is that the cushioning around the base holds the baby in, it makes them feel comforted and replicates the feeling of still being in the womb. I know that this is also the point in swaddling, which we also planned on doing but when Sophia was born she was poorly and kept in hospital for a week, during this time she had a drip on and off throughout the day in her arm, which meant we couldn't even attempt swaddling. By the time we came home and tried to use the swaddling blankets that we had bought we realised she liked to have a good kick in bed and liked to sleep with her hands by her head. The sleepyhead means she can have the warmth and the snug feeling of being enclosed in a space while still having a wriggle under her blanket and freedom with her arms.

(In hospital asleep, 2 days old)

The only downside to the sleepyhead is that you only get one cover, now when Sophia first came home she was still being sick (projectile) quite a lot and this meant twice we had a bed full of sick situation. This meant scrambling around and begging family to wash and dry it quickly before bed time. The cost of a cover is round £40 eek! We tried to solve this by placing a muslin over the top of the sleepyhead.

The sleepyhead comes in a plastic zipped up bag which we are currently using to store her extra blankets, but it means when we are done using it we can keep it as clean as possible and out of the way.

The sleepyhead is also so light it's easy to move about anywhere in the house, Sophia is still currently napping downstairs so during the day it comes downstairs then back upstairs for her bedtime routine. It's even light enough to carry her while in it although I obviously wouldn't recommend this. We plan on using it until she has outgrown it and then store it away for any future babies! Hope this helped anyone thinking of purchasing the sleepyhead, I would love to know if it worked for you!

If you have a blog please link me in the comments I would love to find others to read :)
